As of March 2011:
Where we are:
- For over a year, we have been going into the Bob Wiley Detention Facility for women in Unit 13 once a week teaching non-violent communication, personal boundaries, freedom recovery and the Battlefield of the Mind to the inmates along with conducting one-on-ones advocating for them and setting goals for their next steps to freedom.
- Court appearances for those needing support waiting on sentencing, possible modification to recovery program, or child custody.
- Partnering with Visalia Rescue Mission – House of Hope or Shelter of Hope prescreening for possible placement for the women for recovery program or exiting jail needing safe living environment. (Offering Search for Significance and SaveOne Abortion Recovery classes on campus)
- Offering out patient classes at 210 - Battlefield of the Mind, Search for Significance and SaveOne Abortion Recovery. (Will be offering Saving Grace in May for Sexual Abuse Recovery class)
- Facilitating Battlefield of the Mind study to the Giant Christian Club on the College of the Sequoia campus (COS).
- Crisis Intervention with those out of jail needing validation, prayer, encouragement and gentle redirection to additional resources.
Where we are going:
We are working with a neighboring ministry whose goal is to have transitional housing for the women that we are ministering to (whether they are getting out of jail or to get out of a bad situation and need a safe living environment). We would like to offer Biblical counseling to those that have special needs. We want to offer a whole life experience that includes spiritual, physical, and emotional help.
